A very private journal entry
(Dear Diarrhea...)
One of the things you’re meant to do when you are thinking about things (maybe a bit too much) is to write them down. Once down, they take on a different shape and you can hopefully think about them in a new way, or maybe not think about them much at all.
See, sometimes your head-things (or “thoughts” as some people call them) just circle and circle until you unsquirm them by writing it out. JUST WRITE YOUR STUFF OUT SOMETIMES INSTEAD OF ONLY THINKING ABOUT IT. IT MIGHT HELP, SOMETIMES!
Now that I have saved you at least a couple hundred bucks on counselling (doesn’t mean you shouldn’t keep going btw), I’m going to give you another gift, from my very own private journal, which for my convenience is on my telephone-computer.
I find it useful on occasion to write out good things or bad things that happen during a day. If you’re a kid, this exercise is sometimes called rose, bud, thorn:
rose (good thing), bud(looking forward to), thorn (bad thing)
I’m an adult so I can just write “bad” and then bad stuff if I want.
You don’t get to know about the good stuff that happened Wednesday, May 4th. I invite you to imagine all manner of good things happening to me if you wish, but anyway, here’s the bad stuff:
I guess it could have been worse. I could have had to try and spell diarea. Direhoea. Dirheae. Diahreaa.
Diarrhea! Nailed it.
(The word I can never spell correctly on the first try is calander. Calender. Calendar! If I am ever at the point in my life where I have to keep a diarrhea calendar, I’m in serious trouble for all the reasons)
Warm Regards,
N.
